About the artist
Annie Brady is an award-winning artist and floral designer, with a BFA in fine arts from the College of the Dayton Art Institute and Wright State University. She works in many different mediums – torn paper, drawings, pastel, photography and pottery. Animal- themed art has been a career long inspiration, because she believes “Animals are wonderful landscapes. I am most influenced by nature, and am currently alarmed by the changing of nature by us,” reflected Brady.
When Brady learned the library’s summer reading theme would celebrate the anniversary of the first lunar landing, it occurred to her the art she will display is directly connected to that “outer space” theme. Her art reflects the “inner space” all of us need to explore and enjoy, and it is her hope that her work inspires that journey.
A former art teacher, Brady often reminded her students that artists wear many different hats. “Artists want to know about things, and our art not only tells stories, we act as adventurers and explorers, as well.”
